Two Generations, One Forward-Thinking Real Estate Company Between 1996 and 2003, Bernie Adler’s sons Joshua, Matthew, and Seth Adler joined the company as they each graduated college, combining their fresh perspectives with the core values of service and quality established by their father. As a result, Adler Development has achieved significant growth, tripling its portfolio over the years.
Bernie Adler graduated from Ohio University with a BS in engineering in 1960, and in 1963 started his first company, B&A Construction. Through the decades, he transformed his firm into Adler Development, to reflect his expanded capabilities in commercial real estate development, management and leasing. Bernie still loves construction and particularly enjoys that aspect of the business.
Joshua Adler joined the company in 1996 after working with his father, Bernie, during the previous five summers. He is responsible for directing the overall strategic growth of the company and is involved in acquisitions, leasing, financing, property management and development activity. Joshua earned a BA in economics from Connecticut College and a masters degree from New York University, with a concentration in real estate investment. He is a member of the board of New Jersey NAIOP and previously chaired the National NAIOP Industrial Development Forum.
Matthew Adler is responsible for marketing and property management of the company’s 800 apartment units. He graduated from Tufts University with a BS in engineering psychology in 2000, after working at Adler Development for a number of summers during his college years. Matthew earned an MS from New York University and is a board member of the New Jersey Apartment Association.
Seth Adler joined the company in 2003 after working for Myriad Restaurant Group in New York City. He is responsible for property management, construction and leasing, as well as directing Adler Development’s internal operations. He received a BS from the Cornell University Hotel Management School and an MS in Real Estate from New York University. Seth co-chairs New Jersey NAIOP’s Energy & Sustainability Committee.
